Jaguar Castle Bromwich, Credit Crunch hits!! PDF Print E-mail
2.3/5 (3 votes)

Jaguar Castle Bromwich is remaining open until the 24th  December and workers are returning on the 5th January, despite  earlier statements indicating that workers would be laid off.

Politics seem to be playing are part in the decisions been made at Jaguar at the moment and this is perhaps being driven by the request for government money. The MD of JLR has stated that JLR have not approached the government on its own and have only been part of a joint representation from all of the UK's motor industry.

The volunteer's for the January 29th redundancy package have not yet been informed of their fate. Jaguar's management team have denied some skilled workers the opportunity to leave in the November deal, although this deal was fully subscribed to and a total of 198 workers released. The January deal involves some 400 workers.

Jaguar Cars stop XF nighshift, as a drunken, redundant DHL forklift driver runs riot with fire alarms set off, equipment damaged and police called. It was alleged that one driver attacked his manager while in his underwear!

Further question asked about the future of both Jaguar and Land Rover products should Ford go under. Although they do not own the brands they are heavily involved in engine manufacturing for both brands products and any loss of these engines would cause major delays in production.

Here is a video of The Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, visit to Jaguar Cars Castle Bromwich. The 2 men in the high vis vests are the head of the Unite Union at Castle Bromwich. You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video
